Why I’ve Given Up Alcohol For A Year – Could You Do It?

I’ve given up alcohol for a month before but never for a year, so why am I committing to 12 months? I’m already getting visions of the summer ahead, a crisp glass of Rose in my hand, ahhhhh and what will I toast with at my friend’s wedding?

Of course these things cross my mind, BUT right now I feel so freaking amazing and I’m so excited about the year ahead that not even a glass of Cristal could pull me off the wagon.

Brownies that are actually good for you! Lydia Kimmerling w/ Alexandra founder of Punch Foods

When you change your diet to be more healthy there suddenly seems to be a whole catalogue of foods that you can no longer eat. Including one of my favourites, chocolate brownies. Not that I ever entirely cut anything out of my diet BUT if only just some of these naughty treats were actually good for you, right?

Meet Alexandra founder of Punch Foods. From as young as 13 she’s been baking yummy treats that are actually good for you. Imagine you were at school 15 years ago and then imagine a school friend bringing in home baked gluten, wheat and dairy free cake…It just wasn’t cool then, was it?

Now though, you can find a sweet treat for every diet but what I’ve always struggled with is snacks. What can I eat that isn’t filled with empty calories but still tastes great? That was Alexandra’s question too, which led her to start Punch Foods and create her incredible super seeds.

The good news… her brownie flavour taste just like the real thing AND they are good for you.

I’m a foodie so this spiked my interest but what I was also interested in was her journey to set up a successful brand that’s just seen her open up offices in Soho.
