7 Books I’m Reading About Becoming Rich

 

Every now and then I feel like a snake shedding it’s skin. Life tends to feel tight and heavy the weeks before my new self appears and then there is a light bulb moment which allows the old to fall away and the new to find itself and shine.

My latest life upgrade is about becoming mega rich. So rich that I can enjoy all of the wonders and joys of the world, I can treat my friends and family to everything I’ve ever wanted to give them and donate large sums to charity.

Now even as I have written that sentence, I deleted it twice before I decided it’s fine to write. Why is that…?

Because there is a societal belief that saying you want to be rich is crass, greedy and selfish or if we do allow ourselves to say it, it’s more of a wish that holds no drive because we don’t really believe it will happen to us.

Well, that all just fell away with my latest new becomings and it occurred to me that in this area of my life, I have not been using my usual system for success.

Fill myself up with knowledge and mimic those that are already doing it well.

So many of us desire to have more money, yet how many of us have actually ever pick up a book that teaches you how to become rich and is written by someone who is already rich?

The belief that it will never be you can be so strong that you don’t even think that these books are for you.

In this video I share 7 books I am reading right now about becoming rich to help me uncover more of my own limiting beliefs so that I can give what I desire to myself, to the world and to the people I love.

From new mum to world stage- Mirella Ingamells WBFF competitor

You can’t deny a transformation when it’s a transformation of the body, you can damn well see it. We all love a good before and after photo and this month I’ve interviewed an inspirational women whose ‘b & a’ photos I’ve been addicted to on Instagram. Sticking to weight loss and fitness goals can be the hardest, but not for Mirella Ingamells WBFF competitor who’s a pro at transforming her body with the photos and WBFF evidence to prove it.

I wanted to delve into her mind to uncover what thoughts and beliefs she has that help her succeed, because it’s not everyday that you hear of a new mum returning to the world stage in a matter of under 12 months and placing sixth – she’s got a winning formula and I was desperate to hear what had kept her away from temptation this summer.

It was good to hear that her winning formula doesn’t mean that she has no inner saboteur or that after months of portioned meals and not even a whiff of a gin and tonic does she not long for the days she can let her hair down. Even the most disciplined have ‘that’ voice but it’s whether you choose to listen to it or not, which is no doubt why she not only came sixth this year but second in 2014 also.

How to overcome a fear of ageing without having Botox

 

A few years ago I boldly stated that I wouldn’t have Botox.

I am the first to admit that may have been a little naive and easy to say when you have a wrinkle free face. It’s a bit like declaring that you won’t have pain relief while giving birth – you just don’t know till you’re feeling the pain.

So now that I have got wrinkles, how do I feel about it?

Well…I can sense negative inner dialogue scratching at the door like a dog that wants to come and sleep in your bedroom for the night, but unlike a cute puppy that loves you exactly as you are, this presence at my door wants me to beat myself up for getting older (I mean seriously, I’m thinking how ridiculous that sounds as I write it) but I hate the thought of that as much as I hate the thought of being disturbed in my sleep, so I don’t hang on to those thoughts for long and wish them a good night, sleep well and f**k off, no you can’t get a cuddle.

I still don’t want to Botox and I explain why in this video.

Let’s be clear though, this isn’t really about the Botox, it never did anything wrong and it’s not to blame, nor is anyone who has it or gives it. This decision runs a lot deeper for me.

5 Decisions To Stay On Track With Your Healthy Living Goals

The summer may feel like it is starting to fade, the kids are back to school and your holiday clothes are packed away, but it’s not over yet! McVitie’s go ahead! and it’s squad of fitness and wellbeing experts are here to share our tips for creating and staying on track with your wellness goals and we are encouraging you to do this with a friend. As one of the experts I’m sharing five decisions you can make that will help you stick to YOUR goals. You don’t have to do all of them but if you do just one, then make it number five.

There are five common actions that can stop us from staying on track with our healthy living goals and each of these actions are driven by a limiting belief. Listed below are the decisions that you can make to become more consistent and successful accomplishing your goals, the action you may be taking that is stopping you from staying on track with your goals and the belief that creates that action.

1

Decision: I will only set goals for myself

Action: Trying to accomplish other people’s goals

Belief: I have to do it or I should do it

 

If you are trying to set goals for yourself just to please someone else, you are far less likely to stick to them. You will know if this is the case by listening to how you talk about your goals. Starting with “I have to do it” or “I should do it” suggests that they are the desire of someone else, not yours.

Decision: I will be present

Action: Being too attached to the future

Belief: I will be happy when…

 

If you are too attached to your goal happening exactly as you expect it to, you can be setting yourself up for disappointment which will make you unhappy. Placing your happiness on the future also makes you less happy in the present moment. Be grateful for what you have right now and what you want will come to your more quickly.

Decision: I will see my failure as success

Action: Giving up because you failed

Belief: I’m not good enough

 

The most successful people have failed plenty of times but what makes them successful is that they see their failure as an opportunity to learn. Success doesn’t happen over night, it is lots of little steps that get you there. The only person who can decide if you’re good enough or not is you, so see your failure as success and you’ll make it sure enough.

Decision: I will invest in myself

Action: Never having enough time, money or energy

Belief: I can’t do it because…

 

Creating change in your life to be your best self requires time, energy and on occasions, money. If you’re serious about sticking to your goals you have to be willing to invest in yourself. Telling yourself that “I can’t do it because…” limits you. Start asking yourself “How can I have more time, energy or money?” instead.

Decision: I will get support with my goals

Action: Doing it alone

Belief: It’s weak to ask for help

So often we think that we have to do it alone to be successful or that if we ask for help we are weak, this is all false. The most successful people all have help, whether that is a coach, mentor or friend. My Friend Did This And Made Money In Her Sleep

 

It was so exciting. For three mornings in a row she told me that she had made money in her sleep, all because of the advice I had given her.

Creating what you want in your life, like making more money, doesn’t have to be hard work.

It reminds me of the rule for losing weight, it’s 20% exercise and 80% what you eat, or in this case it’s 20% taking action and 80% what you feed your mind.

You can apply what I share in this video to any area of life that you want to upgrade, whether that’s money, health or love. It will work for you if you already feel that you are doing everything you can do to create the change you want to see but it’s still not happening and you’re saying “I just don’t know what else to do.”

Remember, you still need to take action but the action you take will change because of this daily habit. I know it works because I use it myself and have used it my whole life, plus on the days when my friend didn’t do it, her business stopped delivering and she felt deflated again.
